Budget 2016: Miti hopes for a boost in economic growth & trade figures.

KUALA LUMPUR: The Ministry of International Trade and Industry hopes the Budget 2016 will help boost economic growth and trade figures. This is amid the uncertainty in the global market due to the fall in the oil prices and weakening of ringgit, said its Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed. The budget will be tabled by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak in Parliament tomorrow. Mustapa was also hopeful that more focus would be given to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) - the backbone of the country’s economy - in the budget with new plans and strategies to enhance exports. Mustapa said this was also due to the competition the country is facing. He told reporters this during a briefing and memorandum of understanding signing ceremony. In an effort to encourage more Malaysian food manufacturers obtain the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)certification, the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) is collaborating with SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd and SME Bank to introduce the HACCP Certification Assistance Programme. The joint-collaboration will see Matrade providing financial assistance to companies in the application of the HACCP, with SIRIM QAS International as the certifying body, and SME Bank offering financing facilities for companies to upgrade or renovate their factories. The project is targeting at least 30 companies to be HACCP-certified within a six month period and each will be given funding of up to RM20,000. According to Mustapa, the collaboration will enhance the capability of Malaysian food manufacturers, particularly SMEs, in the global market. “The initiative also helps their competitiveness and create greater market access. The HACCP will not only ensure food safety, but improve product marketability and heighten acceptance globally too,” he said. For the first eight months of 2015, exports were valued at RM498.8 billion, of which that of processed food was RM11.25 billion or 2.3 per cent of the total. Over the last five years (2010-2014) exports of processed food increased from RM11.85 billion to RM16.56 billion. – BERNAMA

"High intensity rain" identified as cause of Sgor flash flood.

SHAH ALAM: “High intensity rain” has been identified as the main cause of the flash floods in Shah Alam and surrounding areas. Selangor Drainage and Irrigation Department (DID) director Hashim Osman said the department's rain stations in Selangor recorded unusually high rainfall due to the high intensity rain on Monday. "The Batu 3 station recorded a rainfall of 104mm in two hours while the TTDI Jaya station recorded a rainfall of 104mm in three hours," he said in a statement today. Hashim said DID is always prepared for flash floods during monsoon transition and it had ensured that all rainfall stations, flood warning systems and flood monitoring cameras were in working order. "DID has also identified and upgraded 74 water retention ponds throughout Selangor, ensured all pump stations and watergates are working and maintained the drainage system," he said. Commenting on claims by Bandar Puncak Alam residents that the flash flood which hit the area on Sunday and lasted for two days was caused by poor maintenance of the outlet system for the retention pond there, he said the department had identified the problem when flash flood hit the city in August this year. "DID has identified a 20 acre (8.09ha) water retention pond which needs to be upgraded to mitigate flood. Work on it started in October and the RM2.8 million project is expected to be complete by June next year," he said. Today, a Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said almost 400 flood victims were relocated to seven relief centres throughout the state. On Monday, the flash flood in Batu 3 caused a temporary disruption to the commuter service at the Batu 3 station as the rail line was submerged and several lanes at the Shah Alam toll plaza near TTDI Jaya had to be closed because of the same reason. Other parts of Shah Alam including in Section 9, Section 13, Section 20, Section U8 and Batu 3, were also affected as many roads were impassable to light vehicles. On Sunday night, some 150 people from Phase 2B3 Taman Sinar Alam in Bandar Puncak Alam had to be relocated to Surau Taufiqiyah which was turned into a temporary relief centre but they have returned home on Monday.

'Zeti says ringgit significantly undervalued amid growth'

KUWAIT CITY: The Malaysian ringgit remains "significantly undervalued" and risks to economic expansion are unlikely to materialize with exports still strong, Bank Negara Malaysia Governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz said. The ringgit doesn’t reflect fundamentals with the nation’s current account in surplus, unemployment at about 3 percent and inflation within Malaysia’s long-term average, Zeti said in an interview in Kuwait City on Wednesday. The currency may recover when the U.S. Federal Reserve normalizes interest rates and as "domestic issues" in Malaysia are resolved, she said. Malaysian policy makers have been struggling to boost confidence in its economy and finances since oil prices started to fall last year and as allegations of financial irregularities at a state investment company hurt sentiment. While the ringgit recovered alongside emerging market currencies in October, it’s still down about 20 percent this year, the worst performer in the Asia Pacific region. "Our export growth remains fairly strong, it has not moderated to the extent that we expected," Zeti said. Malaysian exports and industrial production beat economists’ estimates in September. On expectations of a Fed rate increase, “investors have already anticipated this and have already priced it in, so we have already seen, we believe, most of the outflows," she said. -- Bloomberg

IMPACT OF FACEBOOK ON POLITIC

As the Internet plays a larger role in governance, campaigns and activism, the debate continues about how social and digital media are changing politics. Ongoing research is addressing topics such as whether or not the Internet is leading to increased political polarization — the tendency of like-minded individuals to cluster even closer together in their habits and viewpoints.Although there is increasing skepticism about the real meaning of large-scale social media behavior in terms of its tangible impact for campaigns, some critics point out that journalists are not sufficiently keeping up with new, effective campaign tactics. Of course, the Obama-Romney race offers the latest case study in how politicians are deploying digital strategy and the consequences. Despite media narratives suggesting digital strategy in the 2012 reelection campaign of Pres. Obama proved decisive, some political scientists are already revising and challenging this interpretation. Below are studies that bring a scholarly, data-driven perspective to questions within this area of inquiry. Special credit to George Washington University’s Henry Farrell, whose article in the Annual Review of Political Science, “The Consequences of the Internet for Politics,” usefully highlights some of the papers listed. “Birds of a Feather Tweet Together: Integrating Network and Content Analyses to Examine Cross-Ideology Exposure on Twitter”Findings: The data show that “on Twitter, political talk is highly partisan, where users’ clusters are characterized by homogeneous views and are linked to information sources….” These dynamics likely “reinforce in-group and out-group affiliations, as literally, users form separate political groups on Twitter.” The more the tweets in a cluster reflected a political perspective, the more ideologically one-sided its content tended to be. “Politically active voices, particularly younger voters, who use the Internet to express their opinions are moving away from neutral news sites in favor of those that match their own political views.”“A 61-Million-Person Experiment in Social Influence and Political Mobilization”Nature, 2012 Findings: The data “suggest that the Facebook social message increased turnout directly by about 60,000 voters and indirectly through social contagion by another 280,000 voters, for a total of 340,000 additional votes.” Further, “To put these results in context, it is important to note that turnout has been steadily increasing in recent U.S. midterm elections, from 36.3% of the voting-age population in 2002 to 37.2% in 2006, and to 37.8% in 2010.” The 340,000 additional votes attributed to Facebook messages represents “0.14% of the voting age population of about 236 million in 2010. It is possible that more of the 0.60% growth in turnout between 2006 and 2010 might have been caused by a single message on Facebook.” “Social Media and Political Engagement” Pew Internet & American Life Project, October 2012Abstract: “The use of social media is becoming a feature of political and civic engagement for many Americans. Some 60% of American adults use either social networking sites like Facebook or Twitter, and a new survey by the Pew Research Center’s Internet & American Life Project finds that 66% of those social media users—or 39% of all American adults—have done at least one of eight civic or political activities with social media. 66% of social media users have employed the platforms to post their thoughts about civic and political issues, react to others’ postings, press friends to act on issues and vote, follow candidates, ‘like’ and link to others’ content, and belong to groups formed on social networking sites.”

“The Personalization of Politics: Political Identity, Social Media, and Changing Patterns of Participation”The Annals of the American Academy of Political and Social Science, 2012 Abstract: “Social fragmentation and the decline of group loyalties have given rise to an era of personalized politics in which individually expressive personal action frames displace collective action frames in many protest causes. This trend can be spotted in the rise of large-scale, rapidly forming political participation aimed at a variety of targets, ranging from parties and candidates, to corporations, brands, and transnational organizations. The group-based ‘identity politics’ of the ‘new social movements’ that arose after the 1960s still exist, but the recent period has seen more diverse mobilizations in which individuals are mobilized around personal lifestyle values to engage with multiple causes such as economic justice (fair trade, inequality, and development policies), environmental protection, and worker and human rights.”
“Social Networking Sites and Politics”
Pew Research Center, March 2012 Findings: “Postings on social networking sites reveal surprises for many users when it comes to the political views of their friends. Nearly four in ten users discovered through postings by friends that their political beliefs were different than they thought. A small percentage of users blocked, unfriended or [hid] someone on the site because their postings were too frequent or they disagreed with them. Three-quarters of social networking site users say their friends post at least some content related to politics on the sites from time to time. They amount to 40% of the entire adult population.”
“Presenting Diverse Political Opinions: How and How Much?”
Proceedings of the 28th International Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems, 2011Findings: “We examine the relationship between the numbers of supporting and challenging items in a collection of political opinion items and readers’ satisfaction, and then evaluate whether simple presentation techniques such as highlighting agreeable items or showing them first can increase satisfaction when fewer agreeable items are present. We find individual differences: Some people are diversity-seeking while others are challenge-averse. For challenge-averse readers, highlighting appears to make satisfaction with sets of mostly agreeable items more extreme, but does not increase satisfaction overall, and sorting agreeable content first appears to decrease satisfaction rather than increasing it.”

IMPACT OF BLOGS ON ISLAM…

In today’s day and age technology is rapidly changing and adapting to our everyday needs more and more effectively. From the very beginning of time people have invented ways to speed up our everyday activities, making our lives much more easy and efficient. From the invention of the wheel ruling out the necessity of walking, to the invention of the telephone replacing writing hand written letters to communicate, society has adapted and changed into the fast paced world that we are accustomed to today. In turn, new occupations and interests have arisen, and with the invention of the internet came the introduction of blogs, a place where the average person can share their ideas and opinions with the world.
In this fast paced society that we have created over the years, people have turned to blogs as a resource for media related news whether it is politics, lifestyle or entertainment for information above other media sources such as television, radio or print. The blog phenomenon evolved from an online diary format, where people would recount simple events of their everyday lives. The blog grew rapidly in popularity in 1999 and the years proceeding, when the dawning of blog host sites were created.
Since blogs have become a vital part of the internet aesthetic, they have the power to persuade audiences and are a vital part in the viewer’s views and opinions on a specified topic. With this kind of power, a blogger has the opportunity to impact major aspects of our lives. This can be foremost topics such as politics, with the possibility of swaying voter’s opinions about particular parties. All in all, a blog can cater to a range of different genres, therefore offering to a variety of different audiences.
From this, we can know that blog can bring many benefit to us as an Islam. Blog can help us to spread any information and data about something in a little bit time. Besides that, we can write article about Islam in blog. This can help other Muslim to find any information about Islam. And this condition can help other Muslim easy to find the answer. Other than that, the blog can be create to be more exciting to make sure the reader fun with our blog. This can make many people attract to read an article about Islam in future. In a silent situation, we can help other Islamian to find a right thing.

Blogs arose in the first place because people like to express themselves. Before the Internet, people who wanted to express themselves needed to get published in the traditional mass media, or else build up a following in their town. Very few people succeed at either. The Internet changed this by bypassing the mass media gatekeepers and giving everyone the opportunity to reach a huge audience – much larger than that of any town or city. Anyone can start a blog, and although some eventually get tired of it, others find it to be a satisfying part of their lives, even if their audiences remain small. A minority of bloggers actually build up considerable followings, allowing them to make money from the enjoyable pastime of expressing themselves.
Any comment or option, they can express it into blogs. So we can discuss how to settle it in anywhere or anytime and anyone can be a part to settle any problem. Any idea or solution can be the best solution. So this is one of great opportunity can use of Muslim to be more valuable in the future.  And from this situation, we can bring back the Glory of Islam.

just another breaks up story

My story is just another typical breaks up story. literally. we met. we felt in love. we got together. everything went wrong. i caught her cheating. the guy was her best friends. we broke up. that's it. end of the story.

but the details are a bit different. because i chose to believe that what we had was something special. i'm gonna tell you the process that went trough to our break up. so that every one can learn something or anything from our story. so that everyone could try at lease too be understanding and forgiving when it comes to dealing with others people's heart.

ok. i first met her in 2012. we met in a trip to Indonesia. at that time she was very cute, delicate and polite. a dream girl.  we barely talk to each other in that trip to jakarta and bandung. we just sometimes smile at each other when we across face to face.

but, the story begins at the last of the trip. went we drop her at her home, i help her picks up her luggage and then out of nowhere she ask for my phone number. i just give her willingly. we became friends for the next 6 month. best friends.

then, she told me that she love me. she really does. i also know that is the fact because of the obvious hint she gave. at that time, i wasn't ready and unsure of my felling because of a few personal reason. and because shes younger then me, i reply i only love her as a sister (later i learn that shes hurt badly because of this)

a few month after that, i lost contact with her. i felt lose and my life kinda empty. then, i search for her. i ask for her to accept me. i ask for her hands in marriage. and a few days after that, she says yes. so, we sort of like fiance now. right?

our love life when trough a couple of years. much and much romantic stories we experienced. it was like a fairy tale. then everything change. shes does not treat me like she used to. she will always says shes busy. she will always online without massaging me. her last seen was very doubtful. she will always have weird we chat moments.

But, when i tested her, she will always pass the test. at this point, sometimes i regret i ever tested her. because she will always hurt with my test. its always makes her cry. but that doesn't change her attitude. she just keep doing it later.

at some point, i told her that i wanna breaks up.  i said that i have someone else but actually i didn't. shes keep crying and crying and begging for me not to let her go. and then i said, if she wants me that badly, just treat me like she wants me. not ignoring me for weeks.

but, shes never learn. she just keep doing it. but this time with a reason. and she turn off her last seen on whats apps. so that i can never know when shes online. she forgets, that only the words last seen was hidden but when you are online, you are online! it didn't hide that. so, i just stare at her online for a couple of hours. and it is very doubtful for someone whose claiming she was busy.
